The Swine Flu Distraction

Don Surber via Michelle Malkin -

“President Barack Obama has not yet chosen a surgeon general or the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His choice to run the Food and Drug Administration awaits confirmation,” Politico reported.

In all, 19 positions and the secretary are empty desks.

Maybe if Obama did something more than preen and pat himself on the back for his first 100 days in office, we would actually have a government that did more than just blame Republicans for all the troubles of the world.

Meanwhile, as the CDC is issuing travel warnings and the mainstream media fans the flames of pandemic panic, the Obama administration’s economic and foreign policies continue to drive our nation into Socialism.  An outbreak of Swine Flu in a neighboring country is the best thing that could have happened to this administration at this time.

Hey, wouldn’t want to let a good crisis go to waste, right?

  • On a side note, but still on the same topic, there are only 50 citizens in the entire country who have come down with this swine flu. Is this seriously an outbreak? On top of that, it can be treated with regular flu medications and is no less dangerous than the regular flu. Sorry, but I refuse to call this an outbreak just yet. More like a scare tactic.

  • Post reports GOP criticism of HHS vacancy, but not GOP’s role…Here is the link:

There is in fact an HHS secretary awaiting confirmation…except Republicans are trying to hold up the confirmation.

    Way to show the facts!

  • Once again…

Like the media, you need to get the facts. Democrat Chuck Shumer called funding for flu pandemic a “porky thing” and proudly reported that it was removed from the Stimulus. Republicans weren’t only people who felt that pandemic prevention funding had no business in a stimulus package. How exactly would that stimulate our economy?

    What was that about facts?

  • The swine flu is a distraction from the bailout. The media is talking about our taxes going to waste, there are no large tax protests this week, it has all been whitwashed away under the guise of the ‘fku pandemic.’ This is the same as making illegal immigration a top priority during the Iraq War–get people focused on other things so the government can do what it wants.

    Righto Interesting,

Tis a distraction all right. The CDS estimates that 36,000 people die of influenza per year, yet this mere speed bump has the media drooling. Tis similar to when a Bin Laden video ‘appeared’ every time Bush started getting hammered in approval polls, though Bin Laden died in december of 2001, and never was mentioned on the FBI’s most wanted list. I say similar, because I don’t see the government behind this distraction~ its the media, cajoled by the ultra upper class who fear the pitchforks.
