What Happened To Michael Steele?

Not good.

I have been a supporter of Mr. Steele for quite some time and do still believe that, if he will redirect his focus, he can do great things for our party.  But his current love affair with the media needs to come to an end so he can get down to the business of working the grassroots.

Attacking Rush Limbaugh puts him at odds with the conservative core of the party, diminishes his significance, and makes him a tool of the Democrat/media machine.

Some sage advice for Mr. Steele:

“…you can be against a whole lot of things but you better start to be about something and for something, as well…”

Now who said that?

  • I totally agree. I think Mr. Steele should be ashamed of himself. The fact that the administration feels the need to attack a private citizen for his views (Limbaugh), is very stupid in the first place. But then, look what they did to Joe the Plumber, Sarah Palin, John McCain, and anyone else they don’t agree with.

Conservatives need to be very careful not to be waylaid by smoke screens the liberal left creates. By diverting our attention to their constant “fear” of Limbaugh, we will not be paying attention to the things we really need to be doing. i.e. out of control government spending, threatening free speech, gun control, lies about controlling pork spending, carbon tax, dissolving the coal industry, not allowing off shore drilling, and the list goes on.

  • Mr. Steele had a chance on CNN to set a bar concerning real discourse on racism in America, and he was just an apologist for republicans debating two young Black racists who have been raised like suicide bombers in madrassas to hate whites and conservatives since birth. Pres. Obama just gave republicans the best chance to strike a cord with Black America when the voucher program in D.C. and Milwaukee, and the Clinton welfare reform acts of ‘96 have been erased. The two most effective programs for inner city populations ever and recognized by the majority of Blacks as just that. We may never have a better chance if we let the entire sector of America go back to economic slavery and ignorance-which is just what democrats need to keep them on a short leash! Steele never mentioned once that republicans have been the only party to actually do something about the real problems dems. have ran on for fifty years. From Lincoln to the civil rights act of ‘65. He was as impotent as the RNC leaders of the past. Why can’t republicans find leaders with a backbone?

  • Let’s see if Mr. Steele has learned his lesson through this PR debacle. He really stepped in it. What a wasted opportunity to spread the message of conservatism. I hope he will redeem himself and not leave us all with “buyer’s remorse.”
