Please plan to participate in an Asheville area protest of the Obama Administration’s and the US Congresses’ economic policies and massive spending bills! It is time we stand up as citizens of this great land and let our voices be heard!

Please plan to attend this protest on Friday, February 27th at Pritchard Park, downtown Asheville. Please bring yourself, family members and friends! The more people we have in attendance, the more attention we will get and our voices will be heard all the way in Washington DC and around the nation!

Please bring signs, camera, and camcorders with you!!

This Nationwide event began last Friday as online conservative activists rallied to CNBC’s Rick Santelli’s call last week, backed by mortgage traders, for a “Nationwide Chicago Tea Party” to protest the Obama Administration’s bailout plan.

Moving quickly, Top Conservatives on Twitter , Smart Girl Politics, the #DontGo Movement, Americans for Tax Reform, the Heartland Institute, and American Spectator Magazine joined forces to announce a “Nationwide Chicago Tea Party”, to be held on Friday, February 27 at noon EST.

The tea party will be held simultaneously in Chicago, Washington DC, Atlanta, and dozens of locations around the US, and on Twitter, using the #teaparty hashtag.

  • Be There or Be Square!

  • (sigh) where were you guys the past 8 years?

  • Morgan,
    (sigh)
At no time in the past 8 years, or the past 800 years, has a spending package of this magnitude been proposed, much less passed. You are correct in your implication that the larding up of government has been taking place over the course of time under the watch of both parties. But you are wrong to suggest that we have been sitting on our hands until a Democrat came into office. We are spurred to action by this historically, disgustingly, Unconstitutionally obese spending package, not by the partisanship of the author.

  • Unaffiliated Voter

Many republicans abhorred GWBs stupid actions or lacks thereof…but my GOD, we’ve about jumped over the cliff with this Chicago thug.

  • Thanks for organizing the Asheville Tea Party.

Here is an interesting video on the problem:

The current crisis…is the direct consequence of continuous U.S. government intervention into the economy through fiscal and monetary policies that have been designed to never have a recession . . . With the stimulus package . . . the depression will last longer.

  • Where can I protest?

  • Dana,
I will put you on my list of people to notify the next time there is an opportunity for activism. Hopefully, something will come up soon. I am counting on it.
