“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.
The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.
“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”
Oh yeah. I forgot he is from Hawaii. The media has been so silent about his connection to Hawaii.

Don’t worry, Mr. President. You and certain other Democrats who famously did NOT sit behind the desk in the Oval Office may be cold now, but soon enough we’ll all be roasting.
Good irony-alert catch from reader LCN: “I guess he’s only ‘flinty tough‘ when he’s outside.” Har.

Nice blog
Exept, I don’t believe in the Global Warming thing, in Holland we just had the coldest period in years. My body is still frozen.. so I kind of demand that Al Gore is right

I see the OMighty One does not have to put his money where his disingenuous mouth is. The above lecture does NOT apply to the elite ruling class.
Although the American taxpayers are paying his heating bill. And for everything else for that matter.

Total sarcasm. I am not a Global Warmist either. Thanks for the compliment.

Just so bloggers should know. I am an African American born and raised in the United States, Just as my parents and my parents parents and their parents. In case those of you of the caucasian skin tone didn’t know, “most” blacks do not favor cold weather. That is an educational fact that is less true for whites. So welcome the change and adjustments for your first African American President. Please educate your self before you write.
I live in Indiana, President Obama lived and did his politics in Chicago, he never said he enjoyed the weather. We are all different. And what’s wrong with a 72 degrees Fahrenheit room temperature ?
January 29, 2009 at 8:26 pm
Hello Walter,
This is not a black thing, but I have to admire your nerve at suggesting it is.
I am a skinny white chick and, as such, I do not “favor cold weather” either. I like to keep my house at a constant, balmy 72 degrees but, as Mr. Obama pointed out, “We can’t … keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.”
Dude, don’t ask me what’s wrong with a 72 degree room temperature. The President said “other countries” wouldn’t like it.
Not my rules. His. And he doesn’t play by them.
But thanks for educating me.

Interesting exchange. Walter reads the post and apparently only takes away from it that someone is attacking his president. From literally out of nowhere Walter then pulls out the race card. Jane then just repeats what she had said in the original post; proving once again that it is easier to support Obama if you ignore the facts and instead appeal to old hate inducing stereotypes. It was kind of like the recent presidential election all over again poignantly induced by a short post that implies that Obama lacks a basic leadership skill. i.e., practicing what he preaches.

Walter, If most blacks do not like cold as you suggest, then why do so many of them choose to live in places like Chicago, and Detroit. Are us of the “causian skin tone” racist because we are criticizing the Presiden’t s obvious hypocrisy? . I bet you have have been waiting for a chance to play the race card. Let me ask you a question. Is it the President’s “caucasian’skin tone” or is it his black skin tone that struggles with the cold. I believe that he has more caucasian blood than black blood. Is he not the first bi=racial President that looks black mostly because of his hair. He is light toned and a caricature of him with caucasian hair reveals he looks more white than black. I am caucasian and choose not to live in my favorite place in the world the Black Hills of South Dakota because of the cold. The arguement is about an apparent contradiction concerning the President rather than a racial arguement that you so slyly interject into the conversation. You suggest that us whites don’t educate ourselves before commenting. It is apparent to me this white can walk circles around you in the thinking realm and it is my humble opinion that you sir are the racist What a cheap way to try and cram down our honky throats that the nation has an African American president. I don’t care because I believe in cultural diversification. The fact is we have a bi-racial president. I can handle that but not the real issue “hypocrisy” Get it !

Funny how you guys take one guys subjective comment and blow it way out of proportion. “Let them eat cake” Obama, lol! You should take this on the road, do a show; this is pure comedy. Oh wait, you’ve already got some comedians doing this routine: Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, etc., etc.

Wow, there’s a lot of revelation going on down here. Of course that should be expected and will continue as the ambiguities of the new messiah are revealed. When the eyes of the people are fully opened then it will be too late to stop the NEW WORLD ORDER. They of course sponsored Obama through the media manipulation.(Did anyone notice that?) I can certainly think of some blacker more qualified men to become the “first black president”.Tupac would roll over in his grave.

LOL! Jonathon, you should write a movie. You’ve got fiction writing down.

23five23 , why don’t you wise up and go see a cardiologist. Then while you are recovering from your bi-pass, you can read some Quigley. You probably think that the Federal Reserve Bank is Federal, too!Yea, I do fiction , but not what think bubba. You should work for the CIA. LOL.

23five23:
In the words of George Thorogood: “Now you funny too!”
I think that a lot of the exchanges and criticisms that are happening these days are a direct response to the media’s lack of objective reporting on our new president. It is more than just the “subjective” comments that concern me (and others). These “subjective” comments individually may not mean a whole lot. However, there have been a lot of these comments. They cannot be “poo-pooed” and swept under the rug for they lend “crudibility” to the notion that the president is not who we were led to believe he was. I look at the new Stimulus Bill and LOL. Is this Bill an example of what Obama meant when he said that he would not pass pork-laden legislation? What a joke!
The core policies of this new administration are frightening. I feel that a majority of the folks who voted for him are beginning to have doubts that he is not the vehicle of change that he purports to be. Soon, they will be wishing they had not voted for him. And in due time, we will not be able to find a single person that will admit to having voted for him.

The messianic glow of the O appears to blind the faithful.

Awwww, just woke up. Oh, the jokes still running. Obama’s approval rating is the second highest ever. Bush’s was one of the lowest, when he first got into office, until 9/11. Then everyone got scared, and you still all. It took two terms for the majority of America to see how idiotic Bush was and is. Now Obama is doing something different.
What do you repubs say, “TAX RELIEF’s THE ANSWER.” That dog won’t hunt. It’s time for the CEOs and the upper 5%, and the big corporations to start paying their dues, instead of sending profits overseas, instead of outsourcing jobs, and instead of being given big corporate tax breaks and government subsidies.
Oh no, the future, progress, it’s so scary!
Bring back the Estate Tax!

Cliches, sound bites, talking points, and public opinion polls. Got anything of substance? Got an original thought? You’re telling us that “tax and spend” is a “dog that will hunt?”
Allow me to summarize your worldview:
CEO’s, big corporations, republicans, outsourced jobs, George Bush = EVIL
A few questions for you: You drive a car to work? You shop at a supermarket? You have electricity and plumbing? You wear clothes that weren’t made in the USA? You use a computer?
Yes? Well, you’re a regular enabler of EVIL aren’t you? Why don’t you put up or shut up?
You’re simpleminded naivete is showing and it is really annoying.
January 30, 2009 at 1:37 pm
I don’t believe in evil.
The gap between average wages and CEO pay is growing at an unprecedented pace.
Inflation is rising, wages are going down. CEO bonuses are higher then they’ve ever been before.
Nothing to suggest except, “more tax relief.” Trickle down is nonexistent. What will you do when the stimulus actually works? Cry some more, “Obama cheated somehow.”
January 30, 2009 at 4:07 pm
yo 23 Do you know anything at all except your sound bite generated worldveiw? Try just lööking at the back of a one dollar bill. You poor pathetic unselfeducated man. Once you get the big picture, all of these little details like collapsing economies fall into place.
Just because you’re not paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.
I predict one day you will bow to evil. YOU WILL BELIEVE!!!
January 30, 2009 at 5:43 pm
lol, I’d hate to be you.
January 31, 2009 at 3:31 am
Another sound bite echoing from an empty head, educated by the finest propaganga money can bye. That money soon will be totally worthless. I wonder what that says for the education.Th-th-that’s entertainment folks!!
January 31, 2009 at 3:53 pm
And a thermometer is really important. Jokes on you.

Walter,
Thank you for ‘educating’ me.
May I suggest you read the ENTIRE context in the future before trying to make an argument. But since you brought the subject up…
B. Hussein Obama is not even half black. He is 50% Caucasian from his mother’s side, and 43.75% Arabic & 6.25% African Negro from his father’s side. While his father was from Kenya, his father’s family was mainly Arabic. Obama’s father was only 12.5% African Negro & 87.5% Arab (his father’s birth certificate even states he’s Arab, not African Negro).
Regardless, I would still consider him ‘black enough’ to be considered black, not that it REALLY matters.
