Senate Dems: Roland Burris Won’t Be Allowed In Senate Chamber

Burris will not be allowed on the Senate floor, according to this aide and a Senate Democratic leadership aide.

The aide familiar with Senate Democratic leaders’ plans said if Burris tries to enter the Senate chamber, the Senate doorkeeper will stop Burris. If Burris were to persist, either trying to force his way onto the Senate floor or refusing to leave and causing a scene, U.S. Capitol Police would stop him, said the aide.

“They (police) probably won’t arrest him” but they would call the sergeant-at-arms,” the aide said.

I can’t wait to see footage of Harry Reid blocking the Senate Chamber.  ”Senate Democrats Block Only African American Senator From Senate Floor” – news at 11.  Governor Rod Blagojevich may be delusional, but if he is trying to make the Dems look like buffoons, this move was absolutely brilliant.

  • Perfect way to make Dems in Senate look bad…Blagojevich is playing chess game very well. Roland Burris should be seated, he is a well qualified African American replacement for Barack Obama. The end justifies the means in this case.

  • I agree. Just because he’s crazy doesn’t mean he’s not bright. He has made a public mockery of the Dems. I can’t imagine Roalnd Burris would be a worse senator that Barack Obama was. The Dems are stuck with him in any case because they had their chance to keep Blago from appointing someone and they passed. They got their Democrat, and now they don’t like it. Too bad.
