Surreal.
The shoe thrower was identified as reporter Muntadar al-Zeidi, a correspondent for Al-Baghdadia TV, an Iraqi-owned station. Ironically, he was the very fortunate beneficiary of President Bush’s decision to oust Saddam Hussein. As Gateway Pundit points out:
The [shoe thrower] did not have his tongue cut out, did not have his arms [broken] and was not thown off a roof.
(VIDEO Warning: Very graphic)Now that’s success.
Allahpundit blogging on this as well.
One of Michelle Malkin’s readers notes the surprising delay of Secret Service presence on the scene. Upon another review of the video, it was a rather clownish effort. Happily, President Bush has good reaction time.
